Why should you care? Quill comes from the same team behind wine bars Plume (Covent Garden) and Finch (Brixton). Their Borough Yards wine bar follows the same template, mixing wine and small plates.

Why should you care? Coming from the same team that launched Lita and Wild, this sees Fiend's Chris Denney back in the kitchen, cooking up a menu that's "Modern European with an eye on Asia".
Lina Stores Shoreditch

Why should you care? This new Lina Stores outpost takes over a Grade II listed ex-bank within which you can expect their usual Italian-inspired menu as well as a separate bar.

Why should you care? Previously a pop-up, Hausu has taken over the space that was once Coal Rooms for listening bar with a small-plates menu and curated wine list.

Why should you care? Coming from the team behind Yuu Kitchen and Opium, this is a wine bar downstairs, a cocktail bar upstairs and has a menu featuring katsu sandos.

Why should you care? The Tamil Prince and Crown have been successful pubs with Indian food in Islington - now the same team have opened this standalone restaurant in Battersea.

Why should you care? Chef Aaron Potter, who most recently was Executive chef at Maria G's and before that head chef at Elystan Street, is in charge of this new Pimlico Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, wine bar & deli.
Sticks n Sushi Islington
In a nutshell: Yakitori + sushi
Where is it? Islington - 77-78 Upper Street, London N1 0NU
Why should you care? They've expanded all over London and the latest restaurant for the sushi and Yakitori is Angel, where it's taken over from Neighbourhood.
Bao City
In a nutshell: Taiwanese buns for city folk
Where is it? City of London - 2-8 Bloomberg Arcade, London EC4N 8AR
Why should you care? Bao have brought their Taiwanese steamed buns to the City, with both classic dishes and some new creations just for this outpost. Plus, they have karaoke.
De Nadas
In a nutshell: Argentinian empanadas
Where is it? Stoke Newington - 117 Stoke Newington Church Street, London N16 0UD
Why should you care? The latest outpost of this empanaderias is doing something a little different to the other locations, adding a vinyl wine room at the back.
Hovarda
In a nutshell: Floating Greek and Turkish food
Where is it? Canary Wharf - Water Level, 5 Water Street, London E14 5GX
Why should you care? Taking over the big floating platform next to Hawksmoor in Canary Wharf (the lower level, anyway) is the second Hovarda. They have a similar approach to the menu as the Soho restaurant, taking their inspiration from the Greek and Turkish food cultures.

Why should you care? This is a spin-off from Mayfair's Maison Francois, this time opening as a more laid-back café including dishes like whole lobster frites.

Why should you care? Coming from Alex Xu, the restaurateur behind Kung-Fu Noodle, and it features all manner of noodles including wide noodles, pan fried noodle dishes and cold noodle options.

Why should you care? Jason Atherton has taken over the old Aquavit building and has transforming it into a brasserie (and bar) that celebrates "all things British".

Why should you care? This is a French burger company specialising in smash burgers (even going up to four pattys in one burger) as well as their own chewy cookie dessert.
The Barbary Notting Hill

Why should you care? Already popular in Covent Garden with two restaurants, The Barbary (which focuses on food from the Barbary Coast) has come to Notting Hill with new dishes and more than just counter dining.

Why should you care? Pidgin has closed, but taking its place is Sesta which happens to come from Pidgin's head chef Drew Snaith. He's running a menu with "modern, creative takes on British and European classics".

Why should you care? Taking over the space where Odettes was, Home Kitchen combines chef Adam Symonds with a kitchen that's staffed by the homeless.
Kitty Hawk
In a nutshell: Rooftop restaurant

Why should you care? The group behind two other popular rooftop restaurants, Aviary and Wagtail, has launched this rooftop space (previously Bisushima) which overlooks Trafalgar Square.

Why should you care? 10 years after they first started out on Brockley Market, Mother Flipper have opened a permanent burger bar in the area they call their "spiritual home".
Le Deli Robuchon Chelsea
In a nutshell: Top cakes and pastries on the King's Road
Where is it? Chelsea - 279 King's Rd, London SW3 5EW
Why should you care? The new Le Deli is similar to the Mayfair original, with a mixed offering of bread, pastries and dishes to go. So yes, those crazy-looking cube croissants have made their way to Chelsea.
The Devonshire

Why should you care? Probably one of the best known pub landlords in London, Oisin Rogers has teamed up with Flat Iron founder Charlie Carroll for a new Soho pub. Downstairs is a traditional pub while upstairs is a "highly ambitious" wood ember grill restaurant with ex-Dinner by Heston chef Ashley Palmer-Watts in charge of the menu.

Why should you care? Three Uncles have opened a second restaurant in the City, just around the corner from St Paul's. They're best known for their Cantonese roast meats.
Kayu Bakehouse
In a nutshell: French bakery via Dubai
Where is it? Mayfair - 42 Curzon St, London W1J 7UG
Why should you care? Kayu Bakehouse dubs itself an "artisan dessert boutique" specialising in French desserts. It comes from chef Karim Bourgi in Dubai who trained in France before opening La Maison Du Chocolat and Hermes Paris Cafe in Dubai. Expect croissants, pastries and macarons.

Why should you care? Chef Muzaffar Sadykov has brought his Uzbek food right into the West End. Expect plov (also known as pilaf) rice bowls and Uzbek dumplings.

Why should you care? After a few false starts from other landlords, husband and wife team Jack and Poppy Greenall, who also run Chelsea's The Surprise Pub, are having a go at reviving this Notting Hill pub.

Why should you care? The man behind Fitzrovia's Akoko, Aji Akokomi, has opened his next West African restaurant - Akara in Borough Yards, where the titular savoury fritters have centre stage.
