MA/NA sees the Los Mochis team head to Mayfair with a Japanese restaurant

15/3/26 - updated with the opening date

What was the big Ruya site on Upper Grosvenor Street, next to Corrigan's has been taken over by the Thesleff Group. They've behind Los Mochis in Notting Hill, Sale e Pepe in Knightsbridge (and now Marylebone) and the Juno and Luna omakase restaurants.

This latest opening will be a brand new Japanese restaurant for them, called MA/NA, which they say "combines contemporary style and traditional Japanese techniques". In charge of the food here will be Executive Chef Leonard Tanyag (who also looks after the menus for Los Mochis, Juno and Luna) and Bar Director Pietro Collina (who looks after the drinks at Los Mochis and Sale e Pepe).

Planned for the menu here will be diehs like Edamame Aburi (teriyaki edamame with black truffles), Bulgogi Robata (grilled bone-in ribeye with ginger, garlic and sesame soy) and truffle & garlic fried rice.

If you walked past, you'll know it's a very big space, fitting in over 150 diners inside (and 20 more in a priveate dining room). And once dinner is served, the whole space will apparently "evolve into a contemporary cocktail bar". The Thesleff Group have a pretty great track record with their openings so far, so this should be one to watch.
