Even with a long Jubilee weekend kicking things off, a lot of new restaurants are coming in June including another Robin Gill restaurant, the new location for Honey & Co, a revamped Boundary and more...
Honey & Co
Bloomsbury - 54 Lamb’s Conduit Street, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3LW
The lease ran out on Honey & Co's original Fitzrovia space, but they lost no time in finding themselves a new location in Bloomsbury. Opposite Noble Rot, the new restaurant will be bigger (see the window seats in this pic) and classic dishes from the original will be mixed with brand new additions for Bloomsbury.
Maria G's
Kensington - Coe House, 1-4 Warwick Lane, London W14 8FN
This is the first time Robin Gill (Darby's, Bermondsey Larder) has gone out west and this restaurant will be inspired by his time in Italy. Expect a seasonal menu here, with a focus on Southern Italian cuisine in the summer and a Northern Italy slant in the winter.
Boundary
Shoreditch - 2-4 Boundary Street, Shoreditch, London E2 7DD
Replacing what was Albion cafe, this is a complete redesign of the ground-floor restaurant in the Boundary building, which is now owned by the people behind The Coach in Clerkenwell. They'll be serving modern, seasonal British fare with a European influence and are also promising a late bar, which will be very handy in Shoreditch during the weekends.
Sichuan Fry and Dumping Shack
Hackney - 2 Westgate St, London E8 3RN
This sees the excellent Dumpling Shack finding a permanent home in Hackney. The main event on the ground floor will be Sichuan Fry, which is all about fried crispy chicken buns. In the basement, there will be a smaller (mainly takeaway and delivery) Dumpling Shack serving up some of the very best dumplings in London.

The Tamil Prince
Islington - 115 Hemingford Road, London N1 1BZ
Coming to Islington from the people behind Hackney's Tamila (and who are also ex Roti King) this is a complete revamp of an Islington pub with a focus on South Asian cuisine. Dishes like robata lamb chops and grilled king prawns in masala marinade are on the menu and cocktails will also be worth a look, with a bar menu from an ex Bar Termini mixologist.
Zephyr
Notting Hill - 100 Portobello Road, London W11 2QD
This Notting Hill restaurant comes from the people behind Pachamama. Until now, their restaurants have all been about Peruvian cuisine but this time it'll be a fully Greek menu, with an ex Suzi Tros and Mazi chef in charge. There will also be a late-night bar in the basement which should be a big draw for locals.
Rarebit
Elephant & Castle - 15 Poland Street, London W1F 8PR
Coming from the co-founder of Clapham's The Rookery, this brand new restaurant for Elephant & Castle features a focus on modern British cuisine. There's also a a grocery section that will have bread and pastries from Flor, cheese from Neal’s Yard Dairy and lots more.
Mambow
Peckham - 133a Rye Lane, London SE15 4BQ
After becoming a casualty of the pandemic, chef Abby Lee is bringing back her fresh approach to Malaysian food to Market Peckham. We're told to expect Nyonya dishes on the menu which is "a cuisine which blends Chinese cooking ingredients and recipes with Indo-Malay flavours." And keep an eye out for the lunchtime-only Hainanese chicken sando.
Mr Ji Camden
Camden - 63-65 Parkway, London NW1 7WP
Before Mr Ji came to Soho, they originally popped up in Camden. Now they're coming back permanently to the same spot, to make it their second restaurant. The menu from TATA Eatery's Zijun Meng and Ana Gonçalves is coming too, along with new larger sharing dishes like a Cantonese-style roast chicken and rice with a "mountain" of prawns on top. (Mr Ji was delayed from May and is now aiming for a late June opening)
