Updated 28/6/22 with opening date and menu info
Harrods is on a bit of a roll at the moment. There's a new high-end patisserie on the way. And we still have the big launch of Frantzen due later in the year, not to mention the recent launch of late-night dining in the food halls. Now they'r planning another big new opening, a Champagne bar,
The Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar on the ground floor will be the largest Champagne bar the store has ever seen, and it's the first time that Moët has opened a permanent bar in Europe. It certainly looks the part. It's dominated by a huge gold chandelier (which is designed to mimic the terroir and topography of the Epernay Champagne) hanging over a bar that will seat 34 people.
Drinks-wise, they'll have all the wines that Moët & Chandon offer, ranging from by-the-glass at £16 to a 1959 Grand Vintage Magnum worth £4,400.
The 'food bites' part of the offering sounds eminently Instagrammable too with dishes including:
- The World Is Your Oyster – rock oysters, pear & cucumber and Oscietra caviar
- Not Another Faux Pas – faux gras, rhubarb, ginger and bread
- Moët Caramel - a dark chocolate shell shaped like a Moët & Chandon embossed bottle plaque filled with dark chocolate mousse & salted caramel
- Choux Love - choux pastry buns filled with mango & passion fruit, each branded with one of the four M O Ë T letters
