Last year you may have spotted the arrival of London's first anime-themed ramen restaurant, Uzumaki. It popped up on High Holborn serving a selection of ramen, sushi and bubble team in a Naruto-themed restaurant. And when we say anime themed, we really mean anime-all-in because the restaurant became known for its cosplay and ramen promotions where customers were encouraged to turn up dressed as their favourite anime and manga characters.
Having been open on and off through the various lockdowns, the cafe is now on the move. They've got a spot just off Tottenham Court Road (taking over the old Malabar Junction site) which is going to feature their hand-painted anime murals and is a much bigger location for them.
Food wise, the menu consists of build-your-own ramen bowls, sushi and sashimi sets. The signature Naruto ramen features ramen just the way the manga character likes his, so that's uzu, tonkotsu broth, a double portion of chashu pork, a whole ajitsuke tamago, two slices of Naruto maki along with nori and bamboo.
We'll bring you more news on this as we get it.
