A few years back, the boutique group that is KURO in Notting Hill which has a coffee shop and bakery, opened its all-day diner called Kuro Eatery. It seemed a popular enough place, but clearly the duo behind it wanted more so they've closed it and are about to reopen it as a bagel shop. KURO Bagels is going to be serving "high-quality artisan bagels to-go", so it sounds more in the vein of nearby It's Bagels than Beigel Bake.
The shop will offer a combo of made-to-order and ready-filled bagels, starting with the bagels themselves, which you can order plain, everything or cinnamon raisin. Cream cheese comes plain or with chives, wasabi, roasted garlic along with cinnamon and brown sugar.
For the ready-filled collection includes options like;
- The Smoked Salmon - smoked salmon with cream cheese, red onion, capers and dill
- Peanut Butter + Jelly
- The KURO Special - wasabi cream cheese, ikura, red onion and dill.
If you don't fancy eating on the hoof, come the summer there will be an outdoor terrace seating 15.
From having no devoted bagel bakery to now two within a ten-minute walk of each other, Notting Hill residents are doing rather well out of the current London bagel boom.
