They already have three restaurants in central London, but Din Tai Fung are heading east for their fourth opening, to Canary Wharf. The restaurant group best known for its perfectly pleated xiao long bao will be up and running in Crossrail Place early next year.
It's the smallest of the four (although that's relative as there will still be room for 112 diners)

We've already seen Marceline open on the top floor of the huge floating building next to Hawksmoor in Canary Wharf, now comes the loser floor as the new Hovarda gets ready to open. This is the Canary Wharf outpost of Aegean restaurant Hovarda, which has been serving up Med-style dishes in Soho for the past seven

A huge French brasserie has arrived in Canary Wharf's Wood Wharf, floating in the water beside Hawksmoor. We went in to try some classic French fare.

If you've been to Wood Wharf any time over the past couple of years, you'll be familiar with the huge floating restaurant that is Hawksmoor. However, you'll also have noted that there's another similar floating

It's been a while since we've seen the last Kricket restaurant opening, over in White City in 2018, but they're now getting ready to open some more.
The first of these will be in Canary Wharf, opening in the North Dock area (close to the Elizabeth Line station there). If you're unfamiliar with Kricket, they describe themselves as "modern Indian

Perfectly timed for the on/off arrival of the British summer, Oasis Bar & Terrace is hoping to capitalise on Canary Wharf workers desire to grab a pint or Aperol Spritz post-work. To help with that it's got two defining factors in its favour.
The first is the bar - at 17 metres long they're saying it's the longest in the area and pretty much guaranteed to mean you don't have to wait a long time to

Bombay-style food for Canary Wharf

After the big success of Fallow, the same team have gone much, much bigger with the opening of Roe in Canary Wharf. We went along to see just what's changed from Fallow, and it turns out to be quite a lot.

Similar to Fallow (and chicken spin-off FOWL), it'll be a nose-to-tail affair with a goal of championing "underappreciated produce". Here's a taster of the menu:

Des Gunewardena was one of the duo that set up D&D (Bluebird, Coq D'Argent) but stepped away in 2022. Since then, he's started up a new restaurant group and previously revealed plans to open in The Royal Exchange in the City. Now, he's one

D&D restaurants have been shutting a few places recently as they restructure, with Avenue and Radici both closing earlier this year. But arguably their highest-profile closure so far is Plateau in Canary Wharf which has just shut the doors.
News of the closure was quietly revealed earlier in the week and the restaurant's website still shows details about Wimbledon screenings, so we can assume this was

The man behind Macellaio RC, Roberto Costa, is trying something different for his next opening, Fish Game in Canary Wharf.
That name should give you a pretty big clue as to what to expect. Yes, it's a menu of fish and game dishes and, similarly to Macellaio RC, everything will be cooked over a

Following their Borough Market opening back in 2021, a second plant-based Mallow restaurant is on the way to Canary Wharf.
Mallow comes from the same people behind the Mildreds restaurants but here they're a 100% plant-based affair. And for Canary Wharf, the menu will include a few new dishes like:
