Big Mamma are heading to Canary Wharf

Looks like Canary Wharf really is the place to open big restaurants right now. Following in the footsteps of Hawksmoor, Dishoom and - most recently - the Fallow team with Roe, come the Big Mamma Group.

The Parisian-based restaurateurs already have five restaurants in London, but this would be their furthest east. They're looking at taking over the old All Bar One spot on the corner of Reuters Plaza. It was already a large restaurant, but there are plans to expand it by moving into the previously unused first floor. The space overlooks the river and if this goes ahead it'll be the first Big Mamma restaurant (in the UK) with a waterfront terrace.

Right now, we know little more than that, other than the fact that you can expect the decor to be OTT and the menu to be a mix of pizza, pasta and more. It should do very well. We'll add more news as we get it.
