November sees the return of a much-missed restaurant, the opening of a new Dishoom, a Boston seafood import and plenty more exciting new restaurants opening in London.
Bouchon Racine
Farringdon - 66 Cowcross St, London EC1M 6BP
All eyes are on Farringdon for the opening of this pub and restaurant from dream team Henry Harris and Dave Strauss. The downstairs pub will have a kitchen counter and top lunch menu while upstairs sees the much-missed Racine take a new form with Lyonnaise influences.
Studio Frantzen at Harrods
Knightsbridge - 87-135 Brompton Rd, London SW1X 7XL
He has a restaurant in the World's 50 Best and now Björn Frantzén is opening his London restaurant in Harrods. It sounds like the store's most ambitious restaurant yet, including Harrods' first-ever rooftop terrace. As for food, there will be a menu of Swedish and Asian flavours, and some Frantzén takes on British dishes too.
Maresco
Soho - 45 Berwick St, London W1F 8SF
This new corner restaurant in Soho sounds like a little spot of Spanish sunshine. From the team behind North London’s Escocesa and Bar Esteban, they’ll be serving up Scottish seafood in dishes inspired by regions all over Spain.
Saltie Girl
Notting Hill - 15 North Audley Street, London W1K 6WW
Lobster rolls, brunch with caviar and seafood towers - that’s what Boston import Saltie Girl is promising Londoners when it opens its Mayfair outpost. It should be a good place for counter dining too, so if you want to watch the well-heeled denizens of W1 pass by while you tuck into a mountain of shellfish, this’ll be the place.
Belvedere
Holland Park - Off Abbotsbury Road. Holland Park, London W8 6LU
After a long period of decline, The Belvedere’s fortunes are on the rise. The co-founders of Goodman and Wild Tavern in Chelsea have come to this iconic building’s rescue promising a Mediterranean luxe menu similar in style to their Chelsea spot. Expect to see the Made in Chelsea set here propping up one of the two bars.
Akub
Notting Hill - 27 Uxbridge Street, London W8 7TQ
Take a trip to Palestine without leaving West London at this new Notting Hill restaurant by renowned French Palestinian chef Fadi Kattan. He’ll be mixing the best British produce with fair trade souced goods from Palestine and giving trad dishes a modern touch.
Hicce Hart
Islington - 58 Penton Street, London N1 9PZ
It's only a short walk up Pentonville Road from the Hicce team's original site at Coal Drops Yard to their next opening in Islington. It should be a handy place to pop in for a pint and top-tier bar snacks if you're shopping in nearby Chapel Market and the Sunday evening wine clubs sound like fun too.
Notto
St James - 198-200 Piccadilly, London W1J 9EZ
Michelin-starred chef Phil Howard’s fresh pasta spot in Piccadilly is going to be a welcome addition to the area for Londoners and visitors alike. And with Louis Korovilas taking on Exec chef duties you can expect the pasta offering to be pretty darned good.
Dishoom
Canary Wharf - 13 Water Street, London E14 5GX
It’s been five long years since Dishoom opened a new restaurant so it’s safe to say their legions of fans are going to want to make a beeline to this new Canary Wharf outpost when it flings open its doors this November. It’s a huge one (space for 350 diners) and the riverside terrace should be a big draw come summer.
Straker's
Notting Hill - 91 Golborne Rd, London W10 5PR
As one of London's chefs who was an early (and massive) hit on TikTok, the opening of Thomas Straker's eponymous first solo venture is pretty much guaranteed to get a lot of coverage on social. Given how much of his feed is obsessed by potatoes and butter, one promised dish of potato gnocchi with burnt butter is going to be the one to try.
