Updated 16/11/22 with soft launch info
Back in summer, we had the pleasure of trying out Robin Gill's new restaurant Maria G's in Kensington. There, the restaurant's Exec Chef Aaron Potter was turning out some heavenly modern Italian food in a chichi development tucked off Warwick Road.
This winter, the pair will open the second branch of Maria G's in a much more prominent spot on the river at Riverside Fulham. Turns out this was actually supposed to be the first restaurant, but building delays turned things around. In addition to being right on the water, this Maria G's will have much more of a seafood bent to the menu along with a raw bar serving Connemara oysters and razor clams with gremolata or maybe scallop crudo.
As for the mains, we're liking the sound of dishes like:
- Baked lobster orzo with winter tomato, fennel and Vault vermouth
- Seafood fritto misto
- Mussels al forno
In addition to the restaurant, there'll be a decent-sized bar complete with a terrace overlooking the river. Bar Manager Emmanuel Ferris-Hue (formerly at The Ned will serve up spritzes, highballs, and classic Italian cocktails alongside a predominantly Italian wine list.
It's not just the bar that has its own terrace, the one for the restaurant will have a retractable roof (handy for London's on-off weather).
"I’m absolutely thrilled to share the new seafood-focussed menu we’ve created for Fulham," says Robin, describing the new place's riverside setting as "just incredible.”
