Depressing news from Margate. When we visited there this summer, a highlight of our trip was dinner at Barletta right on the seafront. Today it transpires that the owners, Natalia Ribbe and Jackson Berg have been the victim of a terrible fraud.
In a post put up on their Instagram feed today they revealed that; "A few weeks ago we were victims of fraud that took £50k from our account and has totally crippled us". To compound the trauma it looks like their bank won't be helping them to claw back those funds.
The net result is that if something isn't done quickly they'll need to close Barletta. To that end they've started a crowfunding campaign to raise funds. You can help out here.
