Bromley Town Hall has been going through a big renovation recently and as it's gearing up to opening fully, we have news about the brand new restaurant opening there.
Taking over what used to be the old courthouse in the Grade II building (originally built in 1906), will be Dorothy & Marshall. In charge of the kitchen is local chef Ralph Jones, who's worked in the kitchens of Chris Galvin, Marco Pierre White, Garry Hollihead and Eric Chavot - so, an impressive CV then.
It'll be an all-day restaurant, with classic British dishes at the core. You'll also see plenty of local ingredients like London honey, artisan cheeses and fresh produce grown Kent. To give you an idea, dishes on th menu could be:
- Braised beef short rib with Guinness and black treacle, bone marrow mash, red cabbage
- Baby artichoke, heritage tomatoes with Ragstone goat’s cheese, puff pastry tart
- Golden Tate & Lyle treacle tart with raspberries topped with whipped almond clotted cream
- Flamed baked alaska with sloe gin blackberry sauce
As for the room - being an old courthouse, expect that to come through in the design of the tall room with large high windows surrounding the dining area. There's a small bar space too, if you're looking for a new place for a drink. In all, it sounds like a great addition to the Bromley dining scene.
