April brings lots of new restaurants to London, including a couple of double openings with Greek food in Borough and tacos in Battersea, as well as a three-in-one restaurant from Jean-Georges in Mayfair.
ABC Kitchens at The Emory
Belgravia - Old Barrack Yard, Belgravia, London SW1X 7NP
This sees Jean-Georges Vongerichten opening his second hotel restaurant in London with the Maybourne group (who also own The Connaught). He's taking over a space at The Emory hotel (right next door to The Berkeley) which seems him uniting the various ABC restaurants that the chef has opened in America under one roof. The space (and the view across to the park) should look incredible, featuring artwork by Damien Hirst, and dishes include a pizza oven-roasted lobster, pork confit taco, pretzel-crusted calamari and more.
Opening: 15 April 2024
OMA/ Agora
Borough Market - 2-4 Bedale St, London SE1 9AL
A doubleheader in Borough Market, these restaurants come from David Carter and are both Greek-inspired affairs. Downstairs at Agora, it's a smaller more casual affair with dishes like spit-roast pig on the menu. Upstairs at Oma, he's brought in Nick Molyviatis, former head chef of Kiln, to work on the menu with ex-Sabor chef Jorge Paredes. It'll showcase a combo of raw bar and open-fire cooking with dishes including harissa-grilled prawns and what sounds like a must-have option of brown crab borek.
Opening: OMA 16 April 2024, Agora early April

Bangers
Shoreditch - 5 Leonard Circus, London EC2A 4DQ
Previously sending out top-rated breakfast buns in a delivery-only venture, Bangers have built up an incredibly strong reputation. Now they're opening their first real-life restaurant selling some of their best-selling buns, like the "Original" breakfast bun with smashed free-range pork sausage, fried Clarence Court egg, melted Red Leicester slice and a choice of homemade sauce. They'll also be selling their sauces so you can have a go at making a breakfast bun creation at home.
Opening: 19 April 2024
Los Mochis London City
City of London - 100 Liverpool Street, Broadgate, London EC2M 2AU
Los Mochis has been a big enough hit in Notting Hill to open a second restaurant in a much grander location in the City. Set in a large rooftop space (which will also have a rooftop terrace), this will once again showcase a mix of Mexican and Japanese cuisine, including dishes like their "trailer park" chicken taco or wagyu carne tataki, not to mention Jalisco tiramisu for dessert. Plenty of tequilas and mezcals will be available and this should quickly become a big new City hotspot.
Opening: 11 April 2024

El Pastor / Two Drops
Battersea - Unit 21/22 Circus Road West, Battersea Power Station, London SW11 8EZ
Another double opening, the Harts Group are coming to Battersea Power station with the latest El Pastor. Alongside the tacos and tostidas, they'll have something new at the Battersea restaurant with a weekend brunch menu with a Chorizo Macha roll among the new offerings. Alongside El Pastor will be Two Drops, their new bar which lets you snack on all types of cheese toasties alongside wine, beer and classic cocktails. Both of the new openings will have riverside terraces too.
Opening: 26 April 2024

July
Fitzrovia - 10 Charlotte Street, London W1T 2LT
Expect a few comments on July opening in April but that aside, this is a new restaurant and wine bar for Fitzrovia with a touch of Alsatian influence. An all-day restaurant, the food will be of particular interest with former 40 Maltby Street chef Holly Hayes in the kitchen, while weekend lunches include a whole roast Fosse Meadows chicken. The wine list will be just as interesting with Sune's Honey Spencer behind the list of low-intervention European wines.
Opening: 25 April 2024
TOU
Borough Market - 1st Floor, Globe Tavern, 8 Bedale St, London, SE1 9AL
This marks a return of TATA Eatery's spin-off restaurant that once popped up in Arcade Food Hall (in its original incarnation). Taking residence above the Globe Tavern in Borough Market, the focus will once again be on their undeniably great pork katsu sando, which comes with cabbage, raspberry sauce and xo shallot sauce. We've had this on a few occasions and it's been nothing less than excellent. If you haven't yet experienced it, this opening will be a great opportunity to remedy that.
Opening: 5 April 2024
BAM Karaoke Box
Victoria - 74 Victoria Street, London W1E 6SQ
Posh karaoke is coming to Victoria with this London outpost of a Parisian karaoke bar. But while it all looks very swish inside, of particular interest to us is that they've brought in chef Sabrina Gidda, previously at The Dorchester and Bernardi's, to build their menu. So alongside a backdrop of warbling into a microphone, there will be a Parisian-inspired menu featuring mini croque monsieurs, devilled eggs gribiche and more.
Opening: 18 April 2024
UBA
Shoreditch - 61-67 Great Eastern Street, London EC2A 3HU
Taking over the space inside the Hart Shoreditch hotel that was once a Mostrador residency (which will be getting its own space soon) is UBA. This sees former Executive Chef at Aqua Kyoto, Paul Greening, leading a restaurant inspired by his travels across Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Singapore, including dishes like a Yakiniku beef ribeye with sweet potato nest.
Opening: 2 April 2024
Niju
Mayfair - 20 Berkeley St, London W1J 8EE
When it first opened, 20 Berkeley got some pretty decent reviews but it clearly wasn't quite enough and the restaurant is being reborn as Niju. it's from the same team, Creative Restaurant Group, but this time top chef Endo Kazutoshi is taking a stronger hand in the relaunch. It's being reborn as a Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar with Endo behind some of the key dishes on the menu. Don't expect the look of the restaurant to change too much (it was already a beautiful space) and the downstairs Nipperkin bar is also staying, although that's getting a new sando menu.
Opening: 17 April 2024
