Following the success of their Notting Hill restaurant, and their recent omakase counter Juno, Los Mochis are heading to the rooftops, opening a new restaurant on the 9th floor of 100 Liverpool Street at Broadgate.
If you’re into great views of London, Mexican-Japanese menus and some of the finest and rare tequilas and mezcals in Europe, this should be worthy of your attention. The Broadgate venue will feature a 3,000 sq ft outdoor terrace that’s apparently one of the first in London to be a net-zero-carbon development. Los Mochis join other notable destination-dining outlets here, including Eataly, Revolve, vegan bar and restaurant Stem & Glory, and sushi restaurant Shiro (from the Aqua group).
Assuming the Los Mochis menu is similar to its Notting Hill restaurant, you can expect shared plates of Baja-Nihon cuisine, such as:
- Tuna Poke Tostaditos: yellowfin tuna crudo, yuzu, shiso truffle, avocado, jalapeno, sesame, spring onion, sweet potato shell;
- Trailer Park Chicken Taco: fried chicken, guacamole, jalapeno BBQ sauce, habanero gochujang, sesame and parsnip crisps;
- Yakiniku Taco: Grass-fed sesame soy steak, chilli-ginger honey, coriander, cabbage, radish, sesame and mint cress;
- Shinjuku Ceviche: asparagus, heart of palm, avocado, baby corn, red radish, parsnip crisps, sesame ginger, truffle soy, roasted shallot & coriander oil, and coriander cress; and
- Wagyu Carne Tataki: grass-fed Wagyu steak, chilli-sesame ponzu, wasabi salsa, daikon, spring onion and shichimi
The desserts also look special, featuring handmade artisanal mochi, yuzu chilli meringue, and Jalisco tiramisu. We’ve also got our eye on the cocktail list and could certainly handle a Pink Hot Chilli Paloma (tequila tapatio reposado, chilli tincture, Two Keys pink grapefruit soda, Mexican-Japanese spice mix, Maldon salt ) while enjoying new views of London.
