August may mean summer holidays for most (albeit staycations in general) but there's still a lot to look forward to. Here are the new additions to the London restaurant scene, coming in August.
Park Row
77 Brewer St, Soho, London W1F 9ZN
This is the long-promised DC Comics-themed restaurant (which leans heavy on Batman). It's much more subtle than any previous themed affairs, though, with bars and restaurants meant to echo Gotham City. The chef line-up is impressive, and a lot of attention has been paid to the food - so this is definitely one to watch.
Jose Pizarro at the Royal Academy
Royal Academy, Burlington Gardens, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BD
Next up from top Spanish chef Jose Pizarro are not one but two new restaurants at The Royal Academy. There's the main restaurant in the Dorfman Senate Room with jamón ibérico, presa ibérica, strawberry gazpacho and more. Then there's the Poster Bar - which is more of a tapas bar affair.
Cafe Cecilia
Canal Place, 32 Andrews Rd, London E8 4RL
Ex River Cafe chef Max Rocha has been showcasing his wares in supper clubs and is getting ready to open his first restaurant in Hackney, by the canal. Dishes include Guinness bread, boiled eggs and coolea and they should be serving up a mean bacon sandwich.
The Sea, The Sea, Haggerston
337 Acton Mews, London E8 4EA
Like its successful predecessor, this is part fishmonger, part restaurant with Leo Carreira (the chef previously behind Londrino) in charge of the menu. They'll be dry-ageing the fish here too and we've been told to expect an "evolution" of the menu from the original.
Bar La Rampa
7 - 8 Market Place, London W1W 8AG
This new Cuban-influenced restaurant comes from the people behind Casa Do Frango, and features a menu from the TA TA Eatery team (who have been very busy of late). Expect small plates that take their influences from Cuba and South America and yes, there will be a Cubano Sandwich - this one will have pork belly, ham, and raclette cheese.
The Seafood Bar
77 Dean Street, London W1D 3SH
The Seafood Bar hails from Amsterdam and has taken over the historic Red Fort site for its Soho debut. There will be a big focus on shellfish and expect some piled-high fruits de mer platters alongside a a "Mixed Grill" of crustaceans and fish cooked on a La Plancha grill.

Six by Nico (Canary Wharf) - The ever-changing tasting menus of Six by Nico arrive in Canary Wharf (launching with a new "Chippie" menu).
