A new Italian restaurant, Bibo, is heading to Putney, coming from chef Chris Beverley (previously at Theo Randall at the InterContinental and Chez Bruce) and Rebecca Mascarenhas (who's behind Kitchen W8 and Sam's Brasserie).
They'll be setting up shop on Upper Richmond Road (where Wallace & Co was previously), where Beverley will be serving a modern Italian menu - which includes:
- Antipasti (also available in the bar): Potato and ‘nduja crochette £5; Chicken liver crostini, capers, parsley and guanciale £5; Salt cod, chickpeas, chard and tomato £6.50
- Primi: Pappardelle, rabbit and Prosecco ragu £9/14; Tagliarini nero, octopus, garlic and parsley £9/14
- Secondi: Calves liver, squash, radicchio and balsamic £17; Beef shin, marrow bruschetta, chard and red wine £19
- Dessert: Pannacotta with caramel oranges £6.50; Cantucci and vin santo £6; Gorgonzola dolce, poached pear, walnuts and honey £6.50
Wine man of the moment Zeren Wilson is looking after the 60-bin wine list which will be an all-Italian list, and will apparently be "on hand to assist customers with wine selections" which is almost a reason to go in itself. Alongside the wines there will also be Italian aperitivi, cocktails and grappas.
The new restaurant will seat 70 and will feature "warm hand-blown glass lighting, encaustic tiling, and solid oak table tops set against whitewashed brick and stripped timber floors." There's also a bar area which will offer antipasti at lunch and dinner and salumi and cheese throughout the afternoon.
Bibo opens at 146 Upper Richmond Road, Putney, London SW15 2SW on March 6th. It'll be open daily for lunch from Noon-2.30pm (until 3pm on weekends), and dinner from 6pm-10pm (until 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and until 9.30pm on Sunday). The bar will open throughout the day.
