One thing's for sure about West Ham's new(ish) digs - there are plenty of decent new places to eat here if you know where to look. Your best bet is to head to places like Hackney Wick and Here East for top footie fodder.
1 Endeavour Square International Quarter, London E20 1JN
The furthest east London branch of this popular ramen spot can be found here in the International Quarter - just minutes from the stadium. Enjoy a Japanese beer and some top notch chicken kara-age, and if the weather's good it's worth noting they have a large outside terrace.
3 Prince Edward Rd, London E9 5LX
You'll want to allow a little more time to enjoy chef Tom Brown's amazing seafood dishes - so this is probably a better bet for after the match and it's nice and close to Hackney Wick station. Our tip - those potted shrimp crumpets are to die for. And the cocktails are strong enough to wipe out any woes if the match didn't go your way.
Unit 7, Queens Yard, Hackney Wick, London, E9 5EN
Grab a pizza - that's the easy bit - but deciding what beer to have from the extensive guest list and rotating own beers may take a little while longer.
27 East Bay Lane, London E20 3BS
From the folk behind Soho's Mele e Pere, this riverside trattoria's great for a quick negroni and bowl of hand-rolled pasta before you head to the stadium.
26 East Bay Lane, Here East, London E15 2GW
Brunch runs all day from 11am to 5pm so if you've got a match coinciding with those times, make a beeline for their wild rabbit burger or grilled bavette steak with fries and bearnaise.
25 East Bay Lane, Here East, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, E20 3BS
The homepage of this East London mashup between The Five Points Brewing Company and Capish? explains it all - 20 craft beer taps + Italian-American street food. Perfect pre-match place to meet.
New for the 2019/20 season:
Olympic Park, 20-22 International Way, London E20 1GQ
OK, so this is less like a drop in before the match and more like a place to celebrate - but Patrick Powell's high rise restaurant at The Stratford will certainly give you some perspective on the game.
133 High Street, Stratford, E15 2RB
If it's meat you're after then head straight to this long-term residency where starters include burnt end beef naan with chilli sambal and you can pick up a BBQ tray with pickles and bread.
The Balcony, Westfield Stratford, London E20 1ES
You can deny the authenticity of these die-hard Philly fans and their amazing Philly Cheesesteaks. Perfect football fodder.
Olympic Park, 20-22 International Way, London E20 1GQ
Also at The Stratford, but at ground level, this is more of a casual eating spot and it has a massive terrace if the weather's clement.
