The Night Tube is finally on the way, kicking off on 19 August 2016 and bringing with it even more of a chance to stay in town for a late night dinner. With that in mind, we've rounded up some of the best places in London to enjoy a proper after hours dinner (which we've decided - for now - covers places still serving at least a partial kitchen menu after 11pm).
Late night eating... near the Central and Victoria lines
Balthazar
4-6 Russell Street, London WC2B 5HZ
When are they open until? Restaurant open till midnight Mon-Sat, last table at 11pm.
The dish to order: Why not end the night with a proper blowout and go for a plate of fruits de mer. Go for Le Balthazar at £115.00 and you definitely won't go to sleep hungry (or maybe just "Le Petit" at £40). Alternatively, the beef fillet stroganoff for something more hearty (£19.50).

And more Caprice restaurants are serving late. The Ivy's last orders are midnight Thursday - Sunday, J Sheekey's are 11.45 Mon - Sat, 34's are 11.30 (open until 1am Mon - Sat), Sexy Fish's are 11.30pm (closing at 2am).

The dish to order: The late night menu (10pm till close Mon-Fri) is great value - two courses plus a drink for a tenner

The dish to order: The lobster mac n cheese is legendary. Finish your meal off with boozy truffles made with Glenfarglas 10-year-old whisky.

The dish to order: It has to be the Peking duck - the ultimate late night snack. And if you're celebrating, then why not add caviar to the mix. Alternatively, the jasmine tea smoked pork ribs, which goes without saying.

The dish to order: After 10.30pm, the menu changes to a "British bites" menu. That includes cuttlefish croquettes with wild garlic mayonnaise, chicken popcorn, crispy salmon skin with whipped smoked salmon, chips and curry sauce. So work your way through those.
