| Mayfair, Belgravia

Pierre Gagnaire's uber chic Mayfair restaurant is certainly for special occasions - it's one of the most expensive meals in town. There are multiple dining rooms within the building, all with very different looks and menus. There are also incredibly instagrammable loos.

"(The £47 duck) was all right, I suppose. But the windowless, airless, overheated room – like the refectory of some hellish Gulf resort casino – had got me by then, and I merely looked on sweatily as Esther poked at a depressing chocolate soufflé." READ REVIEW

"Still, the Lecture Room does feel more playful and relaxed than most Michelin-starred joints. At one point, Alison emerged from the loo wide-eyed, having shared the space with what she described as a "porn star". You don't get that at Le Gavroche." READ REVIEW

"Needless to say, I was impressed with this visit. My oh my, do the people behind Sketch know how to put on a show, and for once I actually felt comfortable in a slick Michelin restaurant, instead of having to clench my arse and stiffen the upper lip, they took care of things in true fashion." "Overall it just seems to me that the price is just a bit high for what is being offered, and that the dishes are, in places, overworked." READ REVIEW
