Noodle Inn may be the place everyone's currently queueing for, but it might soon have some competition coming its way. Noodle & Beer first opened in Spitalfields back in 2020 but it's been such a success that the owner is now opening a second restaurant, this time in the heart of Chinatown.
If you haven't tried the original in East London, then the clue to what they offer is in the name. Their menu focuses on Sichuan noodles, pairing those with a regularly rotating collection of interesting beers. There's a choice of dry noodle dishes and a mixture of wheat and rice noodles in soup. But it's really all about all the extra spicy bits you add on to the noodles that make these so good.
The restaurant's founder Xiaoxiao Wang said the decision to move into central London was "born from a desire to bring the simple pleasures that come from pairing noodles with beer to a new audience."
Sketches of the new Chinatown place suggest it'll have its own standalone bar as well which is an added bonus and will be a good place to enjoy their boozy rhubarb sodas and pineapple cobblers.
