We're impressed by the perfect timing behind the new Guinness pop-up experience that's coming to The Ned. On for three months, they've chosen the perfect time of year to launch it, just in time for St Patrick's Day.
The Guinness Bar will take over the Long Bar on the lower ground floor of The Ned. They're describing it as an immersive experience so there'll be all kinds of Guinness paraphernalia and old Toucan posters. Obviously, a lot hangs on the pint itself and the team says that one of the big selling points is the shortness of their lines here - the shortest in the City - so they feel they'll be serving up the best pint of Guinness in the Square Mile.
It's not just pints that will be served here. There's a cocktail menu too including a Royal Velvet made with Guinness and Nyetimber and a Guinness take on the Espresso Martini – the Barkley Café, made with Ron Zacapa, Guinness, espresso and cacao.
Clearly, you're going to need some food to go with all that and even the food menu sounds worth checking out with dishes including:
- Mini beef and onion pie with Guinness gravy
- Caviar and Guinness crisps
- Guinness Cheddar croquettes, garlic mayonnaise and parmesan
- Guinness Bread with coriander hummus
The bar will be open from Tuesday to Saturday and it's walk-ins only.
