What do you get when you combine the creative forces behind huge music venues like Printworks and The Drumsheds with the team responsible for all the Kerb markets in London? Corner Corner is the answer - a huge new dockside space overlooking Canada Water that's going to be home to a food hall and all-day cafe, a vertical farm and be a space for live music.
That indoor farm is key to the whole thing. It'll supply fresh produce to the food side of things at Corner Corner as well as being able to supply restaurants across town. All of which allows Kerb to make the promise that their dining experience here at Canada Water will be "the perfect environment to showcase the possibilities of hyper-local, sustainable farming.” As for the traders we're told that the lineup will represent the diversity of London's independent food scene. Although there are no details yet of who'll be serving up food here.
On the entertainment front Broadwick are the folk behind the running of the DJ programme here. They're also planning a roster of live jazz performances and ticketed shows at the weekends.
It all sounds like a very imaginative way to transform this part of the Docklands. We'll bring you more news on this as we get it.
