Gordon Ramsay is opening London's highest restaurants at 22 Bishopsgate

Gordon Ramsay to open London's highest restaurant (and four more) at 22 Bishopsgate

Updated 10/10/24 with more details

It's big news when Gordon Ramsay reveals he's opening five (FIVE!) new restaurants at 22 Bishopsgate next year. The skyscraper in the City of London is the UK's tallest office building and Ramsay will have a number of restaurants and bars right at the top.

The biggest reveal is that the 60th floor of the building will have a 14-seat chef's table called High, run by the team from Ramsay's three-Michelin-starred Chelsea restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Good luck getting a seat at that.

But that's not all. Gordon will also be behind a Lucky Cat restaurant, a Lucky Cat terrace bar on that top floor with a Japanese garden and a Bread Street Kitchen on the 59th floor below. Night owls will be pleased to hear that the rooftop bar is going to have a very late licence, opening till 3am.

If all that wasn't enough to keep him busy he's also opening a cookery school at 22 Bishopsgate. The Gordon Ramsay Academy will be somewhere fans can learn how to make his famous beef Wellington along with pasta making and mixology. That will offer 30, 60 and 90-day courses designed to train up chefs without putting students into too much debt. "I’ll guarantee you a job before you graduate that’s in line with your aspirations," he says.

Not only will Gordon be kept busy opening all these restaurants, but he'll be filming a Netflix documentary while he's doing that - more details here.

In an interview with luxury title Robb Report, Gordon gave some more detail about the thought process behind getting involved in the development. "The first time walking through that building was just breathtaking," he says. "I could see as far as Oxford. There were helicopters below us, the Gherkin was below us, and I saw an opportunity like no tomorrow.

"We started off on the extreme left-hand side, overlooking Tower Bridge, with Gordon Ramsay High. There’s this 12-seat table, that has just the best view in the world, and an open-plan kitchen. You’ll arrive, you’ll mingle with the chefs, you’ll see the canapés put together, and it’s live...That experience is going to go on for three, three and a half hours."
