Last week we brought you the story of a new wine bar at Heathrow. This week we're talking about another new opening in the airport's Terminal 2, but this one is a lot more bouji. You may have tried French chef Cyril Lignac's food at his Mayfair restaurant Bar des Prés. Well, now the chef is back in London, this time to open Le Café by Cyril Lignac at the Louis Vuitton store at Heathrow.
It's not the first time the luxury fashion house has opened a restaurant, or even the first time they've opened a restaurant in an airport. They also have one at their shop in Doha International Airport. But this one is very eye-catching, you're not going to miss it when you're dashing through to find your gate.
We're told that the cafe will be somewhere you can linger for a meal or grab something at the counter to take on the plane with you. That said, if you're shopping at Louis Vuitton you're probably flying Business Class rather than Ryanair. The all-day menu will include Eggs Royale in the morning moving to lighter dishes like curried crab salad, a croque monsieur or lobster roll later in the day.
You can expect to see folk Instagramming their Louis Vuitton-branded pastries, plus there will also be a mango Eton mess on the menu. On top of that, all the glassware and table settings will be from the brand’s Art de la Table range.
If you're flying from Terminal 2 in the coming weeks, this will definitely be worth a look.
