Colonel Saab's second Indian restaurant is off Trafalgar Square

Colonel Saab's second Indian restaurant will be off Trafalgar Square

They must be doing very well in Holborn, because the team behind Colonel Saab are about to unveil a second restaurant.

Opening about two years after they launched the first place, they've taken over the space that was Les Deux Salons near Trafalgar Square. That's been empty for a while, so it'll be good to see something back up and running in there. The original Colonel Saab managed to attract Malala Yousafzai to dine there, so this central spot may well attract some more A-listers.

Like the original, this will be a homage to restaurateur Roop Partap Choudhary's travels across India with his mother (and the restaurant is named after his father).  The menu will be similar to the original with dishes like the Sunday Lamb Curry and Gutti Vankaya (Andhra curry, baby aubergines in tangy tamarind gravy) making an appearance.

The original restaurant looked pretty impressive, so expect the design of the follow-up to look similar, featuring "a treasure trove of eclectic Indian art and artefacts collected by his family on their travels".
