When a London restaurant's been around for over 110 years we always take interest in any changes. And over the weekend the team behind Richoux in Piccadilly announced a big one - that they're leaving their Piccadilly space and moving to Soho.
"Our menus will continue to pay homage to the grand brasseries of Paris with paired back classic dishes, whilst focusing on impeccably sourced produce, prepared simply to let each ingredient sing," they said in an announcement on Instagram.
It's not the first change of address for the restaurant - it opened on Baker Street in 1909 before relocating close to Portman Square after the Second World War. More recently it was taken over by chefs Jamie Butler and Lewis Spencer who met at Moor Hall and gave the restaurant a new lease of life when they reopened it last year.
As to what's going in the space, it looks like there might be some major works afoot. If you remember, we reported back in the summer that the San Carlo group were relocating Cicchetti to Piccadilly. The address of that new larger restaurant space is 172-173 Piccadilly which would see it taking over both the space currently occcupied by Richoux and also the old Paul patisserie site next door which closed recently.
If you do fancy dining one last time at Richoux's Piccadilly home you'll have to be quick, the last service is tomorrow (26 September).
