18/5/21 - updated with menu details
Just before the pandemic hit last year we reported on the big changes coming to Camden Town Brewery's original site. Now, as they get ready to unveil it, they're finally revealing what to expect from the new Camden Beer Hall.
Taking inspiration from Bavaria's beer halls, there's going to be a taproom with 24 taps on the bar. That'll serve up all their beer, freshly brewed on-site, alongside exclusive small-batch beers.
But it's the food side of things that's really interested us. Because they've only gone and teamed up with top chef Theo Randall for that. He's come up with a menu of dishes you'd naturally expect to find in a German beer hall, which have been designed to pair perfectly with beer.
- Burrata cheese with roasted asparagus, burnt butter, toasted breadcrumbs, sage and parmesan.
- A Beer Hall sharing platter, with roasted vegetables, mixed olives, fennel salami, prosciutto di Parma, bresaola and pecorino with a choice of pretzels or focaccia on the side.
- Pizzas including one with spicy nduja sausage and tomato, topped with a creamy scarmorza cheese
- Daily specials including pappardelle with slow-cooked beef shoulder, chianti tomato sauce and rosemary.
As Jasper Cuppaidge, the brewery's founder explains: "It made sense to have our great friend and great chef Theo Randall create the menu and look after the kitchen for us, championing fresh ingredients in a way that is the perfect accompaniment to our beer. It will be the best beer experience in the city and we can’t wait for beer-lovers to see what we’ve been up to when we fling open the doors."
