Chefs at home - what London's chefs are cooking for themselves during lockdown (22 May)

Looking for inspiration during lockdown? With chefs at home rather than in their restaurant kitchens, many of them are showing just what's possible to knock up in your own home. We've picked five of the best examples we've spotted on Instagram from the past week.

Sven-Hanson Britt - Oxeye

MasterChef the Professionals chef Sven-Hanson Britt - who is currently working on opening his London restaurant Oxeye - has been busy this week on yakitori duty. Check out the stories for his doorstep BBQ complete with instructions on how to make the tare sauce glaze. He's also making gorgeous-sounding smoked salt and spelt sourdough bread caramels for sale.

Oli Williamson - The Greenhouse

Head Pastry chef Oli knocked up some rather fine looking blueberry financiers while he's been at home and his croissant dough sausage rolls look first rate.

Anna Haugh - Myrtle

Chef Patron Anna's summer tart of hot smoked trout from the Goatsbridge trout farm in Kilkenny with asparagus and peas is almost too beautiful to eat and looks incredibly summery.

Chef Francesco Mazzei - Sartoria, Radici and Fiume

Using fish from his local fishmonger Bournes in Highbury, chef Francesco has put together a beautiful wild bream guazzetto (fish stew) with clams and samphire. Check out his stories for more step to step guides.

Rosie Birkett

Food writer and cookbook author Rosie has made just the most exquisite cake as part of her efforts for the BBC Good Food's #bakebecauseyoucan campaign - it's a squishy elderflower and rhubarb cake and we'd like to dive head first into it.

Yesterday I baked this squishy, messy delicious elderflower and rhubarb cake as part of the @bbcgoodfood #bakebecauseyoucan campaign which is raising money for @bbccin and @comicrelief - you just bake, share, donate what you can and then tag three friends and family to do the same. Big thank you to the wonderful @eatandmess for kindly contributing the elderflower from her garden, and to @ccccccccccaroline who harvested the rhubarb from the allotment. I nominate @oliahercules @henriettainman @millitaylor - if you want to help with the effort and donate the link is in my bio 🥰 • • • • • • • • • #rhubarb #elderflower #rhubarbandelderflower #rhubarbandelderflowercake #messydelicious #cake #cakesofinstagram #cakegram #naturalcake #thebakefeed #floralcake #seasonalcake #squishycake #baketheseasons #rosiebirkett #thejoyfulhomecook
