30/7/19 - updated with revised soft launch info
What: BaoziInn Borough
In a nutshell: Hunan and Sichuan in Borough
Summing it all up: Best known for their intensely coloured dim sum, as well as excellent Hunan and Sichuan streetfood-inspired dishes, BaoziInn are coming to Borough, and this one will have a cocktail bar.
The low-down
We have to admit to being a little late to experience the joys of a BaoziInn visit - but a Test Drive earlier this year showed us what we were missing. From the intensely coloured dim sum to truly outstanding dan dan noodles, it really was an excellent meal.
So there's very good news indeed for Borough (which is on a roll with the openings of Bao and Flor) as BaoziInn is opening a big flagship restaurant there, just around the corner from the market. As with the Soho restaurant and the Market Hall site, they'll be featuring Hunan and Sichuan streetfood inspired dishes and all the dan dan noodles and blingy dumplings, skewers and buns will be making their way to the new location.
That's not all though. Cantonese roast meats will be a central part of the new restaurant and new dishes include "Chef’s special recipe barbeque roast duck" and "Crispy roast pork belly" and "Caramelized barbeque roast pork".
All that and it's a big space too - taking up three floors. That includes a big open kitchen on the ground floor, as well as a cocktail bar and lounge on the first - so that'll be a handy drinking spot in Borough.
