What: Arthur's
In a nutshell: Elegant British dining and cocktails
Summing it all up: After a hefty refurbishment, Liberty London has opened Arthur's, who'll be aiming to please the post-work crowd with cocktails, the tourist crowd with afternoon tea, and everyone else with a selection of menu tidbits sourced from their food hall, plus baked goods, brunches and juices galore...
The low-down
As if you needed any more excuses to "just quickly pop in" to the extremely gorgeous Liberty London department store, now they've opened their new restaurant Arthur's, and it sounds very lovely indeed.
Based on the second floor, there'll be a whole selection on offer from their Mini British Food Hall, which you can tuck into in fittingly plush, velvet upholstered surroundings.
Some of the dishes we've heard about so far include
- Glazed chicken and pickled mushrooms
- Salmon poke
- Quinoa and kale tabbouleh grilled haloumi
- Open sandwiches of beetroot, cured salmon and avocado
- Salt beef and fresh horseradish on rye
They'll be catering for the brunch crowd with salmon, chive and free-range eggs with sourdough soldiers and fresh waffles, while those after something more sugary can go for warm madeleines and pink lady cake cooked up by their in house baker, the wonderfully named Ingrid Parfait. Afternoon tea will be provided as well, with finger sandwiches, cream scones and Taittinger Champagne on offer - perfect if you've found yourself in Liberty as part of a zone 1 tour for out of town friends and family.
The refurb also includes a brand new standalone bar, which will be shaking up Liberty Royal cocktails, serving craft beers and squeezing fresh fruit juices.
