Black's Soho throws doors open for summer specials

green goat foodIf you have the bad luck to be stuck in London over the summer you'll be wanting something to make up for it. That's where private members club Black's on Dean Street in Soho comes in. They'll be opening their doors to non-members on Saturdays throughout August.

Lunch and dinner will take place in Black’s famous panelled dining room, complete with rare Hogarth prints. The room will be lit by candles and different chefs will take turns to create some astonishing meals.

The summer's chefs are as follows:

Saturday 4 August: Ravinder Bhogal (@cookinboots). Author of the award winning book Cook in Boots, will be serving up Papaya salad prawn crackers; prawn Scotch egg, prawn cracker crust, banana ketchup; coconut, lime, mango trifle with tapioca custard and more.

Sat 11 August: founders of street food company @GreenGoatFood Claude Compton (ex number two at Petersham Nurseries and Glub Gascon) and Jan Smith (ex Urban Caprice and Le Table D’Aligne, France) - pictured right - are putting together a patriotic repast including Portreath line-caught mackerel with forgotten beetroot and tomato concoctions followed by orange blossom yoghurt panna cotta with blackberry moss and honeycomb.

Saturday 18 August: Carl Clarke (@ccdiscobistro) aka #PunkChef, one half of the recent rooftop sell-out God Save The Clam, last year’s Rock Lobsta and The English Launderette has a menu including popped millet and devilled pig skin; rose hip "toast & jam"; muntjac and elderberries, dried pig’s blood and more...

Lunch (1pm for 1.30pm start) is £42 and dinner (7.30pm for 8pm start) is £48 and for that you'll get a welcome punch and three course meal.
