From brussels sprout pizzas to chestnut wontons and turkey empanadas - it's time for our guide to all the Christmassy specials that are hitting London restaurants now.
The Turkeynada from De Nadas
Shoreditch, Notting Hill
De Nadas make Argentinian hand-shaped empanadas and the Turkeynada should be pretty self-explanatory. Inside, you'll find roast turkey, caramelised leeks, cranberry sauce and crispy sage, in a soft pastry. (£3.50)
Chestnut Cream and White Chocolate cookie from Crème
Soho
Crème don't just have a special cookie for Christmas, they also have a special red box that's only available for the season (a very handy present, we'd say). The special cookie in question is a Chestnut cream and white chocolate cookie, featuring sweet chestnut cream and white chocolate chunks. (Box of six cookies: £24).
Pizza, Actually from Yard Sale
Various locations
This year, Yard Sale have teamed up with The Camberwell Arms for their Christmas pizza. It's topped with nduja mascarpone (which is inspired by a snack served at the Camberwell Arms) as well as brussels sprouts, crispy sage and pancetta sprinkle. There's also a veg version with porcini mushrooms, confit garlic, brussels sprouts, garlic oil and parmesan.
Calum Franklin's Festive Showstopper
Delivery only
If you've been missing Calum Franklin (ex Holborn Dining Room) and his pies, then you'll definitely want this, created with pie makers Dickinson & Morris. The huge pie is covered in hot water crust pastry, deep-filled with outdoor-bred pork, chicken and smoked bacon and finished with a cranberry and port jelly (£40, serves 8-10).
Turkey and Chinese chestnut wontons at Poon's
Fitzrovia
Amy Poon's Wontoneria residency at Carousel has also added some special Christmas wontons to the menu for December. You can get these as a bowl of five and they feature turkey thigh, Chinese chestnuts, goji berry, ginger and wood ear mushrooms (£10.50).
The Panettimisu from Crust Bros
Waterloo
Crust Bros do have special Christmas pizza on the list (one with purple potato cream and one inspired by a Christmas cheeseboard) but it's the dessert that has caught our eye this year. The Panettimisu combines their tiramisu from Executive Chef Davide Parato with the fruity flavours of Panettone, to create a new Italian Christmas staple. Look out for their chocolate negronis too.
Christmas Spiced Duck Mazesoba Ramen from Tonkotsu
Various locations
This year's Tonkotsu special focuses on duck as opposed to turkey. The Christmas Spiced Duck Mazesoba Ramen features special wide-cut noodles (made only for this dish) in signature pork broth enriched with lardo, topped with Christmas-spiced glazed duck leg, pickled radish, pomegranate seeds, crispy-fried onions, spring onion, sesame seeds and a Clarence Court egg yolk (£17.95).
The "I'll Have What She's Having" pasta dish at Pastaio
Soho
This year, Pastaio has teamed up with the I'll Have What She's Having podcast for a special pasta dish. It sees Pastaio's fresh mezze maniche pasta combined with sausage, pancetta and chestnut in a white wine and sage sauce, topped with a crispy rosemary pangrattato (£16.50). It's paired with a Fontodi Chianti Classico wine, also chosen by the podcast (£11).
