Lauded by many as one of the very top-tier burgers available in London, Zan Kaufman's burger restaurant's signatures are simple cheeseburgers or bacon cheeseburgers but done to perfection. And you'd be remiss not to order some Angry Fries and a Black & White shake too.

Burger & Beyond

Where: 147 Shoreditch High St, Hackney, London E1 6JE

Burger & Beyond are best known for their amazing Bacon Butter Burger, which comes with burnt butter mayo - it's the must-have on the menu. Non-burger-related, you'll definitely want the truffle tots and their Rice Krispie fried chicken burger is pretty special.

Black Bear Burger

Where: Canary Wharf, Brixton

Black Bear's speciality is their onion jam which really does elevate their signature burger. Chicken nuggets and garlic parmesan fries are also available.  They're known for adding smoked meats on the menu and while those aren't on Deliveroo at the time of writing, they are sending out weekly BBQ boxes.

Dip & Flip

Where: Battersea & Wimbledon

Dip & Flip's speciality is the French-dipped burger - i.e. a burger that's dipped in gravy. And yes, that is as good as it sounds. On top of that, you can get some sliced roast meat piled on top, because you can never have too much of a good thing.

Four Legs

Where: Compton Arms - 4 Compton Ave, Islington, London N1 2XD

Four Legs arrived almost out of nowhere to create one of London's most highly rated burgers at their Islington residency. The smashed Dexter beef cheeseburger is a thing of legend and it's also well worth ordering their fried new potatoes as a side.

Goodburger

Where: Shoreditch, Hackney, Finsbury Park

Goodburger was unleashed during the lockdown as a spin-off from the highly-rated chicken merchants Coqfighter. Cheese and bacon burgers are available as well as a blue cheeseburger which adds blue cheese and crispy shallots to the mix. Chicken salt fires are also a must.

Haché

Where: Various London locations

Haché is what happens when you combine a burger restaurant with a Parisian bistro. Their menu features a pretty huge range of both steakburgers and standard beef burgers. Look out for regular specials and collaborations with London chefs.

Honest Burgers

Honest Burgers have grown quite a bit over the past few years and you'll find them across London (most are delivering). Their burgers are all accompanied by their wonderful rosemary salted fries and they have a new special collaboration burger on sale every month that's well worth ordering.

Le Bun

Where: 1 Bath Place, London EC2A 3DA

This is another burger joint with French inspiration - you'll see truffle make a lot of appearances in the Le Bun menu, as with the Truffle Honey Bacon Cheeseburger and Le Truffle Double Double (and triple!). There's even more truffle in their fries and mac & cheese.

MEATliquor

Where: Various

MEATliquor were at the forefront of London's burger renaissance, popularising smashed patty burgers in the capital. Now there's a large range of burgers including the Dead Hippie alongside hot-dogs and chicken. They have hash browns instead of fries for delivery (they travel better) and their shakes - hard or not - are well worth a look.

Patty & Bun

Where: Various locations

Patty & Bun were among the first to pioneer the lockdown DIY burger kits and now they're delivering. Here you'll find the popular Ari Gold Cheeseburger as well as the Smokey Robinson bacon burger,
