One opening that we didn't have on our radar for June was none other than Stormzy opening an immersive bar in Soho, which also serves pizza. But that is exactly what we have with House Party, opening today and taking over the space that was once Milk & Honey.
Sounding not 100% dissimilar to The Little Door bars, it's a doing-what-it-says-on-the-tin place in that it's "modelled on an adolescent house party experience", which they're describing as "red cups, sofas, pizzas and chaos". Music-wise, you can expect tracks and live performances from various DJs and artists, which should be decent as we're going to assume Stormzy has a pretty good contacts list.
The retro theme means there will be old-school consoles on the sofas (so that's more along the lines of your Nintendo 64s and GameCubes as opposed to a PS5) and there will, naturally be karaoke. For the bar, Stormzy has teamed up with Cream Group, who are also behind Cirque Le Soir and Flippers London.
As far as the food goes, there will be pizzas and giant NYC-style pizza slices with options like hot honey and pepperoni, coming with a whisked garlic ranch dip. You'll also have Dr Pepper slow-cooked sticky wings and ,sticking to the immersive theme, they say the food will be "delivered in-house by a Domino’s-style delivery man". Drinks-wise, the one to go for seems like the "Dark & Stormzy", served in an American-style red cup.
Back on more of a Stormzy theme, the most striking thing about the club should be his first BMW he owned, which has been lowered into the basement. It all sounds fun and it'll be interesting to see how it competes with the Little Violet Door which is opening just a couple of streets away next week.
