If there's one date you want to open in time for if you're a new Irish pub, it's St Patrick's Day. So Shoreditch pub Nancy Spain's is coming in just under the wire with the intention of flinging open its doors a few days before the big day.
The folks behind it are Kerry-born brothers Peter and Nicholas O’Halloran and they're hoping their pub will bring something new to Shoreditch. Interestingly, given how huge Guinness is in London at the moment, this pub will focus on Murphy's as the big stout on draught. There will also be an extensive range of whiskeys from Jameson through to West Cork Whistler and Connemara and Dingle Whiskey.
Cocktails also take a Celtic bent with options including a Barry’s Pornstar made with Barry’s Tea and a Mexican Bramble made with chilli-infused tequila and Murphy's stout cordial. As you would hope and expect there will be Tayto on offer here too (hopefully the right Tayto) along with other classic Irish snacks.
Downstairs from the pub will be Nancy’s Kitchen which will play host to a rotating chef series.
