Dzo! Viet Kitchen arrives on Islington's Upper Street

A new  Vietnamese restaurant has just appeared on Islington's Upper Street and it looks like it could be worth checking out. Dzo! Viet Kitchen has taken over the space that used to be the sports bar Valderrama's and has given it quite the makeover.

As for the menu, there are summer and spring rolls (pork and prawn, seafood and taro and mung beans) and banh mi which include original dac biet as well as grilled beef, prawns, beef stew, pork and tofu. There are also Vietnamese fish cakes (and a vegetarian version), crispy salted egg dishes, fish sauce glazed chicken wings and Vietnamese salads. On top of that, specials include:

  • Basket clams salad
  • Saigon rice pork chop
  • Crispy chilli whole seabass

All that alongside rice and noodle bowls make for a very interesting menu and a promising addition to Upper Street, which has been getting some interesting restaurants of late, including the recently opened Hainan House, just down the road.

We've been told by a reader that Vincent Nguyen from local beauty business Nailology Ltd is behind this restaurant.
