Updated 23/1/24 with a new opening date
It's been quite the year for chef and restaurateur Claude Bosi. He began with the opening of his bistro Socca in Mayfair with Samyukta Nair and then followed that up with the unveiling of his glamorous rooftop restaurant Brooklands at the Peninsula London. And now he's working on a third project, a restaurant on the Fulham Road, which will be opening in the New Year.
Josephine is being billed as a Lyonnaise bouchon and is a joint project between Bosi and his wife Lucy. It's taken over the spot on the corner of Fulham Road and Callow Street (which used to be Colette). Certainly, the idea of Bosi doing Lyonnaise food is exciting; the chef was born and trained in Lyon and his parents ran a bistro there.
Named after Bosi's grandmother, we're promised a combination of French bistro classics and regional Lyonnaise specialities. We're particularly taken with the idea that they'll be offering the typical Bouchon-style metre wine, so you pay only for what you drink.
The Bosis have brought in a top team for this new opening including GM Will Smith who you may recognise from his time at Arbutus and Wild Honey. "This restaurant is a very personal project for us," Bosi says, "an ode to my grandmother and the traditional Bouchons of Lyon that have always held a special place in our hearts."
