Yiqi Pan Asian restaurant opens with bamboo tube rice and wagyu mousse in Chinatown

Yiqi Pan Asian restaurant opens with bamboo tube rice and Wagyu mousse in Chinatown

The latest restaurant to hit Chinatown is Yiqi, billed as a Pan-Asian restaurant with dishes from all over West and Southeast Asia. In charge of the kitchen is Chef Lum Wah Cheok who comes via Hakkasan and Yauatcha making this a potentially very interesting opening.

The menu looks intriguing too. A taste of it includes fried cordyceps flower salad, Nyonya pandan chicken, charcoal grilled spare ribs with honey dough, and skate with yuzu. Plus they also have a special bamboo tube rice section, paired with Pork Trotters, chicken curry or Assam seafood. And finishing up, there's the rather mad-looking wagyu mousse (we're assuming that it only looks like wagyu).

Having only opened just after Christmas, reviews on Google for this one are very strong, so it sounds like it should be well worth a try.
