We bring you a big development in the world of spirits and an exciting cocktail destination for East London, with the news that Brandy House Bar is now open in Walthamstow.
Launched by Burnt Faith, who opened the UK’s first brandy distillery in the location this summer, the bar is on a mission to educate palates new (or even adverse/agnostic) to the world of brandy. They'll also showcase classic cocktails, which are themselves served with a separate nip of Burnt Faith brandy to fully appreciate the spirit. Flights of brandy are also offered for tastings, and the Burnt Faith eau de vie and the Burnt Faith Triple Sec also feature in the cocktail list in the Honey Man Daiquiri and the Plum Margarita, respectively.
There’s a big focus on local ingredient sourcing here too. For example, those lacto-fermented plums in the Plum Margarita are foraged in E17, and the honey in the Honey Man Daiquiri is from the Local Honey Man up the road.
If you’re thinking you’ve heard about this region as an emerging drinks destination before, you’re not far wrong. The Brandy House Bar is an exciting addition to the adjacent drinks community on what is now known as ‘Blackhorse Road Beer Mile’, where we’ve been updating you on new openings recently.
And if you or your friends aren’t brandy fans, fear not - there are still cocktails featuring gin, rum and whisky, so you’re sure to find a Cocoa Old Fashioned or an Aged Negroni that will please you. Masterclasses and events are also all on the way as the bar settles into the neighbourhood.
