Over the weekend the latest addition to the hotter-than-hot Notting Hill dining scene opened its doors. Ria's is a new all-day spot that kicks off with home-baked cookies in the morning, moving to focaccia sandwiches by lunch. In the evenings things go up a notch as the space transforms into a natural wine and pizza bar.
The pizzas they're serving are deep pan-style Detroit pizza pies made with wildfarmed flour which can be bought whole or by the slice. Toppings include:
- Whipped ricotta & tomato – slow cooked marinara sauce, cheddar mix, whipped ricotta, basil, lemon oil
- Garlic wild mushroom – béchamel, cheddar mix, wild mushrooms, burnt onion jam, friarielli, parsley, fresh chives
- Roasted king prawns – slow cooked marinara sauce, parmesan crust, salsa macha marinated king prawns, parmesan cream drizzle, more salsa macha, fresh parsley
- Vegan N’duja – slow cooked marinara sauce, slow roasted tomatoes, vegan nduja, fried basil, vegan Parmesan
There's also a small selection of sides and small plates with the haggis pops topped with red wine and whisky syrup singled out for your special attention.
Scottish-born Ria Morgan is the person behind the new opening, heading up an all-female team which includes head of food Mahsa Glazacheva (ex-Dispatch and Allegra). They've put together a natural wine list to go with the food and there will also be cocktails on tap courtesy of bottled cocktail specialists Black Lines.
