Get ready Stratford, Eggslut is coming to East Village

Get ready Stratford, Eggslut is coming to East Village

Updated 13/10/23 with opening date

The egg-based dining concept that has induced sniggers and second-glances at its name since launching in London is asking for your attention again. Eggslut is opening a branch in Stratford, its fourth in the capital and the biggest so far.

Originally starting life as a gourmet food truck in LA in 2011, Eggslut now has 16 locations worldwide and made waves when it opened its first UK outlet in Notting Hill in 2019. This was followed by a second branch in Fitzrovia in 2020 then Shoreditch in 2021. If anyone needed further convincing of its merits, three-Michelin-starred chef Clare Smyth collaborated with the brand during Lockdown to create a special burger for the NHS in 2021.

At the new Stratford site, you’ll find seating for 90 on an outdoor terrace as well as extended opening hours and an evening menu (until 10pm), which is good news for those who had just considered the egg-focused food chain as a brunching destination. Eggslut is continuing its partnership with Bread Ahead bakery and also East London’s Nude Coffee Roasters. On the menu you can expect:

  • The Fairfax: a sandwich made from cage-free soft scrambled eggs and chives, with Cheddar cheese, caramelised onions and sriracha mayo served in a brioche bun
  • Smoked Salmon Sandwich
  • Salt & Rosemary Truffle Hashbrowns
  • Slut: cage-free coddled egg on potato purée, poached in a glass jar, topped with gray salt and chives, served with baguette slices

All the Eggslut destinations accept walk-ins.
