Humble Grape wine bar is coming to Crouch End

Humble Grape wine bar is coming to Crouch End

When you’re onto a good thing, open another one, seems to be hospitality philosophy, with the news that Humble Grape is about to cut the ribbon on its sixth wine bar. Having launched its first site in Battersea in 2015 followed by a Fleet Street outlet (2016), Islington (2017), Liverpool Street (2020), and Canary Wharf (2021), Humble Grape is now spreading the love to Crouch End, taking over the former site of Italian restaurant Florians 2.

Many of their wines are from independent producers and overall they have a selection of 400 wines with sustainable provenance (many not found elsewhere in the UK).

The menu echoes the wine list’s sustainability ethos and, assuming it is on par with their other bars, you can expect the likes of:

  • Sea bream ceviche with strawberry and tarragon;
  • Côte de Boeuf (for 2): 35-day dry-aged British grass-fed rib- eye on the bone;
  • Crispy pork belly with pea gazpacho and soft-boiled egg;
  • Padron peppers with lemon and chilli salt; and
  • Peach tarte tatin with rosemary granita.

On top of that, they’re promising bottomless Saturday lunches and Sunday roasts.

Pets are welcome as they are at all Humble Grapes and as for this location, there's a terrace for alfresco drinking as well as a 12-seater semi-private cellar room. And if you’re not a wine expert, it’s the place to start learning, with the experienced team offering tastings and masterclasses too.
