The World's 50 Best Bars were announced last night and while The Connaught has reigned for two years, it's time for someone else to take the top spot. It's the turn of Bar Paradiso in Barcelona, which happens to be right behind a pastrami shop in the city.
However, it was still a very good night indeed for London bars with Monica Berg and Alex Kratena's Tayer + Elementary staying in the number two slot. Maybe they'll make pole position next year?
Elsewhere in the list, we have The Connaught Bar (8) alongside new entries from Satan's Whiskers (23), Swift (30) and A Bar With Shapes for A Name (37) - all in all, a big improvement on last year.
And if you look in the 51-100 list, you'll also see Three Sheets (72), Side Hustle (75) and a re-entry for the new-look Donavan Bar (89).
