Updated 30/8/22 with new opening date
Peckham's much-loved Forza win is coming back! But it's not coming back to Peckham.
Back at the beginning of all the lockdowns, Forza was forced to close its original Peckham location ("complications with their landlord" are the reasons given). Since then, they've been looking for a new location and now they've finally found one. This time they'll be opening in Camberwell.
The restaurant will be taking over the space that used to be The Church Street Hotel (itself closed for a while now) on Camberwell Church Street. The team will spend a few months completely renovating the place before they're ready to open.
As for what to expect when they open the doors? It'll be a similar offering as before - that means five courses of seasonal Italian dishes "following a traditional Italian meal structure". The head chef will be Sam Oxley and his Instagram page will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect, like his zeppole (little doughnuts) and raspberry sauce.
In the meantime, they're still on the rooftops in Peckham with their wine bar Forza Wine. We'll have more details about their Camberwell restaurant closer to the opening.
