If you've been wondering what was going to go in the place of the old Cargo nightclub space on Rivington Street since it closed last year then, as of this week, we have the answer.
It's now reopened - rather under the radar - as The Viaduct which is going to be an all day restaurant, tap room and cocktail lounge.
The first element is Arch - an all day spot serving what they describe as casual British food. So if you fancy a coffee mid-afternoon or a Sunday roast this will be the place to go. The Arch is also home to a terrace which retains Cargo's two famous Banksy pieces that the artist did here back in the early 2000s.
Tap will be a spot for craft beer enthusiasts in a collaboration with El Brew Club and then there's Cosmos - a 'hedonistic cocktail lounge' with booth seating and areas for group bookings. Here they'll also be doing cocktail masterclasses and there will be a menu of sharing platters.
So if you're in the area it should be worth popping in and seeing what they've done with the place.
