It was only going to be a matter of time before crazy golf came to Islington and now it's finally arrived as the latest Birdies gets ready to open in Angel Central.
Coming from the same people as Roof East, this follows on from the Birdies that opened in Battersea. The main event is the nine-hole crazy golf course, that all finishes off with a big roulette wheel. But, as with any competitive socialising venue, it's so much more than the game itself.
There's a cocktail bar right in the middle of the venue and food comes from Cheeky Burger, who have been popping up all over town and now have a permanent restaurant in Camberwell. There you can have burgers like The Elvis (steak beef patty, cheese, grilled streaky bacon, house smoky mayo, peanut butter, chipotle hot sauce and grilled onions) or the Cheeky Falafel (falafel house patty, fried aubergine, pickled cucumber, tomato, romaine lettuce, pickled red onion tabbouleh and tahini dressing).
