The cafe scene in North London got a boost last week when boutique cafe group Beam announced that their next opening would be in Muswell Hill.
If you haven't come across them before (they have branches in Crouch End. Highbury and Notting Hill), Beam's big sell is the all day breakfast and brunch offering, mixing English and Mediterranean influences. So while you can get a full English here, there's also shakshuka, Turkish eggs and a Med breakfast that comes with grilled halloumi, filo pastires, merguez and olives. We're pretty regular visitors to their Highbury branch and can attest to its popularity.
In Muswell Hill they've just got the keys to the old La’De Kitchen site on Muswell Hill Broadway, according to industry website Propel. There's no word yet on when they'll open, but Muswell Hill folk are already getting excited.
