The Connaught Grill may have originally opened two years ago, but few Londoners will have had a chance to dine there given that lockdown began just weeks after the newest restaurant at The Connaught had unveiled its luxe interior. Now, the restaurant has reopened giving you all the chance to check it out.
If you're looking for it, you need to find the hidden away hall at the back of the lobby which leads to the grill room. Inside it's particularly beautiful with wood artistry from the George Nakashima Woodworkers.
We popped down for a Test Drive back in February 2020, but a quick look at the menu shows that almost everything has changed. There's still the pie of the day - but the seafood pie has transitioned to a rather beautiful looking seabass en croute. For Sunday roasts they'll be wheeling out the restored silver trolley from the original Connaught Grill to carve it at your table and there's also veggie options too like the must-try spit-roasted celeriac with lemon puree, pecans and Pecorino.
If you're looking for somewhere for a lunch or dinner where you need to discuss something discreet - or highly gossip-worthy - the booths here are custom-made for just such a scenario.
