Bored of staring at the same four walls during lockdown? Well, this month ITV have plans to transport us from our homes into the gorgeous gardens and 16th-century buildings of his Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons in Oxfordshire.
Simply Raymond Blanc is a brand new cookery show with the chef, which was filmed in the two Michelin-starred restaurant and hotel. It's Britain’s only country house hotel to have held two stars for over 30 years. Lots of the TV show's action will feature the extensive kitchen gardens and orchards of Le Manoir and there'll be behind the scenes shots of the restaurant too.
We're told that Blanc will be showcasing "simple, rustic recipes, that can be put together easily and quickly whilst still delivering amazing results." The recipes come from his new book which is published this year - Simply Raymond - "a simple cookbook - inspired by his mother, Maman Blanc."
The book took a different turn when Covid restrictions confined Blanc to his home in West London away from Le Manoir, forcing him to ensure the recipes could be made with any normal kitchen equipment. But its publication will be bittersweet as Blanc's beloved maman died last summer before the book could be published.
Tweeting this weekend Blanc said: "Each Saturday I will show you simple, beautiful home-cooked food that everyone can make. We will pick fresh produce in the gardens, cook delicious recipes, and welcome special friends."
