Gordon Ramsay launches Street Burger in St Paul's and plots Street Pizza roll out in Southwark and Battersea

It's now clear what Gordon Ramsay has spent Lockdown 2.0 doing. In addition to messing around on TikTok, he's been planning world domination. And he's starting with London, where he's opening five new 'street food' restaurants, three of those before the end of 2020.

Launching a new Gordon Ramsay brand will be Street Burger. That's opening at One New Change, presumably as part of Ramsay's sprawling Bread Street Kitchen restaurant.

For that, we're promised a range of beef, chicken and veggie burgers where the key sales pitch is that a meal is £15 all in - with a burger, a side and an unlimited soft drink of your choice. They're going big on provenance with all the food sourced from the UK, so 100% grass-fed beef from the Lake District, Dingley Dell bacon, Somerset chickens and potatoes from none other than Pierre Koffmann.

Burgers on the menu will include

OGR burger - Lake district beef and smoked cheese
Bae burger - Lake District beef, treacle cured bacon, over easy egg and tomato relish
JFC - Jocky's fried chicken, chilli spiced buttermilk, hash brown
Butternut Bhaji Burger - butternut squash and courgette, masala, mango chutney and a mint and coriander yoghurt.

That's part of a rapid roll out with Street Burgers opening soonish in both Charing Cross Road and Kensington High Street.

"The design is super modern - we've worked with some amazing artists, but, more importantly, I want to tell you about the burger," Ramsay said on his Instagram feed. "The blend is incredible and it's been in development for the last 18 months. I can't wait for you to taste them. The vegetarian and vegan burgers are sumptuous..."

And all this is in addition to the much more high-end Gordon Ramsay Burger in Harrods.

In addition to Street Burger, Ramsay's also opening more Street Pizzas with the first opening today in Southwark, taking over his Union Street Cafe space in Southwark. It's the third site for the Street Pizza roll out and a fourth one will open at Battersea Power Station before the end of the year.

On the menu at both will be pizza slices, a bottomless pizza option, cocktails and beers.
